HARTZ CHEW’ N CLEAN BONE

I got my boy Kodi the Hartz Chew’ n Clean bone a few weeks ago after he lost his Nylabone. I’ll admit I was a little skeptical at first as to how well it would hold up. Now, Kodi isn’t a spastic chewer who eats everything in sight but if he doesn’t have any proper chew toys around then he will gnaw on the closest thing he can get his teeth on. Usually that includes my comforter or hairbrush! I have bought him several different kinds of chew toys in the past and they either didn’t hold up and broke apart right away or they simply just didn’t interest him. So I didn’t really expect this toy to be any different.
But boy was I wrong! As soon as I unwrapped the toy from its packaging and handed it to Kodi he immediately started doing his happy dance, which includes a full on butt wiggle. He eagerly took the bone from me and started to inspect it, thoroughly sniffing every inch of it, his eyes growing wide from pure delight. Once he was absorbed by the bacon aroma he proceeded to lie down and gnaw away at it. For thirty minutes he laid on the bed contentedly chewing his new bone until exhausted, he closed his eyes and went to sleep. I was ecstatic to see my baby boy so happy and overjoyed that he was able to tucker himself out before bed.
This is a remarkable chew bone and I’ll tell you why. First off, it has this wonderful mouthwatering bacon flavor which not only entices the dog and encourages them to chew on it but it smelled amazing to me as well (I’m a HUGE bacon fan though so I may be a little biased)! Most other bones I’ve bought for Kodi in the past have been mint flavor and while they do make his breathe smell good, I’ve found he doesn’t like to chew on them for long. However, I found that with this bone he’s constantly going back and choosing to chew on it over all his other toys. Second is that this toy has a blue, textured nylon surface and when Kodi chews on it the ridges massage his teeth and gums promoting good oral hygiene. Chewing helps dogs remove excess tarter and clean their teeth. I love this feature because it can be a bit of a struggle to brush Kodi’s teeth and it ends up being extremely stressful for the both of us at times. Now I don’t feel so bad if Kodi refuses to let me brush his teeth some days because at least I know chewing on the textured bone will help to keep his teeth in good condition. And finally, the best thing about this bone is the amazing quality of it. It is made of sturdy, durable nylon and can withstand the constant chewing from eager doggy teeth. Kodi has only had this bone for a few weeks now, but even with him chewing on it constantly it’s hard to tell that a dog has even chewed it. Well, aside from the dog drool and fur clinging to it!

The HARTZ Chew n’ Clean bone kept Kodi occupied, mentally stimulated, and it even managed to tire him out. This is a great bone and I would highly recommend it for anyone who’s looking for a durable, healthy chew toy. I only have one complaint and that is that when Kodi chews on it the bacony aroma fills the air and I desperately crave some bacon!

The HARTZ Chew n’ Clean bone gets five out of five squeaky balls.
